Common European principles for teacher competence and qualification emphasize a teacher’s influence on the society, as well as his role in a person’s potential and future generation development. Educational quality ensures not only better social skills, but also higher employment opportunities in the future as nowadays preschool age children are future adults.EU has set a goal to ensure all its citizens with an opportunity of at least two foreign languages acquisition starting from the early childhood. The National Development Plan for 2014-2020 determines that starting school children should have the basic knowledge of at least one foreign language.The main objective of Erasmus+ project “Language – the path to the secure future” is to put into practice the CLIL method in the daily learning process at the PEI of Marupe region “Zeltriti” and improve parents’ and teachers’ cooperation .To achieve the main goal of the project “Language – the path to the secure future”, the following participants from PEI of Marupe region “Zeltriti” - a preschool teacher and an educational psychologist - will take part in the structured courses in the UK, Ireland and Spain, acquiring both CLIL methodology and effective cooperation strategies on how to involve parents and cooperate with them. Thereby, undesirable behaviour will reduce and study performance will increase, which will boost positive attitude to school in the future.The activities of the project “Language– the path to the secure future” at PEI of Marupe region “Zeltriti” are planned chronologically:1. During the preparation stage – acquisition of theoretical sources.2. Mobilities in the UK and Ireland – CLIL methodology acquisition.3. Mobility in Spain – acquisition of the effective strategy of cooperation between teachers and parents.4. One theme is covered within a month: Routines (greetings, weather, seasons etc.), Playing with Art (colours, shapes etc.), Animals (pets, farm, wild animals), Healthy living (personal hygiene, food etc.) and The Five Senses (experiments and activities involving sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch).5. Parents’ school – CLIL game-based method.6. A “CLIL for pre-schools” seminar organisation and leading for Riga Region PEI teachers and educational methodologists.The outcomes and impact of the project:1. Improved cooperation (with effective strategy of cooperation) between parents and THE pedagogical staff, ensuring a common approach to the raising and education of children of pre-school age.2. Both the project participants’ and children’s improved English.3. Laid the basis of one foreign language (The National Development Plan for 2014-2020) and ensured the opportunity of foreign language acquisition starting from the early childhood.4. Facilitated interest in foreign language acquisition, developed language teaching and learning as well as intercultural awareness (Erasmus+ guidelines).5. Eliminated languages barrier at the early stage of foreign language acquisition with young learners through decreased psychological load alongside with effortless learning and psychological comfort.6. Raised prestige of the teacher’s status (Teacher – the future profession).7. Increased capacity of the PEI of Marupe region “Zeltriti”.The potential longer term benefits:1. Future learning opportunities are considerably broadened because foreign language acquisition develops memory, concentration of attention, flexible thinking, increases erudition, forms character and boosts self-esteem.2. Cultural awareness is especially important in the context of globalisation tendencies.3. As future adults – much wider career opportunities due to the increased significance of language skills. Lingual capital can enrich the economic capital.
