VALLIS COLAPIS

The project´s objectives include establishment of an orderly and recognisable tourist infrastructure network linking the tourist area and directing the visitors to areas possessing such infrastructure and relevant providers of tourist services. The principal activities carried out within this project are the following: elaboration of a corporate image, production of joint promotional materials, preparation of a conceptual solution for caravan supply stations, arrangement of thematic pathways (walkways, cycling routes, bee-keeper´s pathway) on the Slovenian side of the border, arrangement of wine routes on the Croatian side, arrangement of Zupania´s memorial house, and training. Achievements: Within this project, a municipality network was established (including 2 Slovenian and 7 Croatian municipalities) to cover the needs of tourist route development. A total of 10 cycling lanes were marked on the Slovenian side and 14 on the Croatian side of the border. For tourist purposes, non-traffic tourist signs and markings were set up (on both sides of the border); hiking trails and other thematic routes were put to use (11 in Slovenia and 18 in Croatia); on the Croatian side, the wine route (29 km) was equipped with corresponding markings. Besides the production of promotional materials (brochures, guides, maps), workshops intended for the local population and for tourism workers and guides were organised.
