Our school’s aims can be identified in emphasizing the importance of moral values, disseminating education, combined development of skills, abilities and knowledge required for work as well as enhancing national and social cohesion and grounding the pursuit of the common good. We would like to find our place in the new training system and- despite the declining number of children -remain competitive and trustworthy. Thus we find it necessary to join international projects. Being forced by the circumstances, we need to reconsider our strategies. Our main goal is to provide our students with an overall picture of the world of work considering their age and opportunities. We would like to establish needs, develop qualities and skills that will directly lead to self-education stemming from internal compulsion so life-long learning can become a life project. We believe: “"Making yourself employable is a big part of getting the job you want – good qualifications are only half the answer…. the other half is good experience, especially experience of working in a new culture and country!"The new professional school-leaving exam in 2017 requires a complex, overall and competency-based training strategy which will enhance practical knowledge. Our school has always and continues to excel in practice-oriented theoretical training. We successfully participated in the Leonardo da Vinci and Erasmus + Mobility Programs for 7 years. The work placements-provided by our partner institutions- can always give the students something different than what they would learn in Hungary which we consider one of the most important added values of this project. We expect that our students’ foreign language communication skills, employee competencies, abilities for group work, their sense of responsibility, decisiveness and self-knowledge to improve through the professional practice. The students can form their self-concepts during the period of the practice and they can also develop loyalty towards the profession. The beneficiary students can get acquainted with new techniques, methods and perspectives while implementing the work program and we can integrate this knowledge into the curriculum. The implementation of the project has a favorable impact on the human and labor relations of our school’s staff. We believe that we have performed our due diligence in compiling our application and the outcomes of the project will benefit all participants.Given the results of this project, we hope that our school’s evaluation as a partner institution will improve, we can enhance the cooperation within the school staff, we can provide our students with new and exciting learning opportunities and broaden our international relations in the next school term.
