SloMove studies the opportunities offered by SAR remote sensing systems to monitor soil deformation. Monitoring soil deformation is part of the ordinary activities carried out by public and private bodies responsible for risk management and land protection. The methodology used covers all stages, from the gathering of data to the update of natural threats prevention instruments. After refining and sharing the most recent technologies, the partners choose the areas (both in Italy and Switzerland) to be tested for the integration of satellite and terrestrial monitoring systems on soil deformation. Updates on risk management criteria, techniques and procedures will be given through technical workshops and guidelines aimed at people responsible for safeguarding the area.
