Search for European Projects

Västermalm to London
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The aim of the project is to provide a better quality of education for the students and to give them broad and up to date knowledge of a multicultural globalised world where English is spoken. To be able to contribute to an enhanced education and a richer experience as a student and to motivate them to achieve higher goals in their studies. Also to improve the quality of the communication between Europeans with different languages and cultures through the use of English. This will increase the mobility, understanding, more contacts and better cooperation. The students should be equipped with knowledge and understanding of other countries and cultures with an international perspective. In all the education there must be a multicultural international perspective as well as environmental and ethical. In order to achieve the aim, the teachers of English require up to date competence of an ever changing globalised world in a multicultural global country where English is spoken. The teachers can then be able to provide the students and colleagues, knowledge and understanding of other countries, both from a language point of view and from a societal, cultural and international point of view. This can be achieved by teachers participating in a purpose designed course for teachers of English as a foreign language. The competence and knowledge will be shared with other teachers, not just teachers of English but other teachers and staff at the school too, and students studying all levels of English at the school. Since all current teachers of English at the school will participate, there will be a quality and equality assurance for both teachers and students. The gained competence will benefit the whole school. The teachers of English will through the regular meetings ensure the sustainability of the project and the gained competence thereby ensuring the benefit to present and new students over a longer period.
