Background of the project; Einar Granum School of Fine Art, is a well-established educational institution in the art field. School history goes back to 1970 and has gained a very high reputation. All academic staff are practicing artists, and each year a large number of visiting artists, architects and designers arrange workshops and lectures as part of the curriculum. Most of the staff has been involved as teachers for more than 10-15 years. Many have a teaching competence from other similar art schools and formal pedagogical competence. Each of them runs their own artistic practice with exhibitions both in Norway and abroad, as well as other major art projects in public space. The school has all together a large professional expertise within their own staff. In addition, the school has between 15 to 25 guest teachers every year in different areas of specialization. The objectives of the project; Achieve realistic and relevant teaching experience at a different educational institution for the school's academic staff. Through the exchange secure a new and updated competence in teaching and education within our disciplines. Achieving further knowledge of the Nordic art and culture in the context of education within the sector. The goal is increased competence of staff, giving the school as such a broader perspective and greater insight through the enlarged reflection on art education, both within our own country and also in an increasingly globalized world. Number and profile of participants; The aim is to let altogether 4 of our staff through two year period have 2 weeks of teaching experience in Finland at The Nordic Art School. Description of activities; Teachers from Einar Granum School of Fine Art, in fields Drawing, Painting and 3-dimensional art, will use teaching methods from our school which modifies and adjusts to the curriculum at The Nordic Art School in Finland, all in close dialogue with the academic leadership at the school there. The methodology to be used during execution of the project; Teaching, in both group and individual tutorials, based on criteria and learning outcomes descriptions presented in the course descriptions. Description of results and impact assuming the potential long-term benefits; Competence building in own our professional staff assumes that up to 4 of staff bring in new knowledge and experience with teaching in another educational institution within the same sector - from a Nordic country and educational institution that is comparable to our own.
