Út a Michelin csillag felé / Road to the Michelin StarThe Hódmezővásárhelyi Szakképzési Centrum Corvin Mátyás Szakképző Iskolája (Corvin Mátyás Vocational School of Hódmezővásárhely Vocational Centre) has been organising international mobilities with four partners to two countries with the financial help of the Leonardo/Erasmus+ programs of the European Union for several years.The most important aim of the mobilities is to develop the professional and linguistic knowledge and the European consciousness of the beneficiaries. We began to cooperate with these schools in the beginning of the 2000th years. We organise the mobilities with the French partners every year, if it is necessary with the self-help of the students, but we can send students to Finland only with European subsidy. However, we received Finnish students in almost every year so our contact is steady and continous.France:It is a one year long course and professional training which takes place in Bar le Duc, France and the region Lorraine. During this year the beneficiaries take part in a course at the school (10 x 1 weeks) and in the remaining 42 week they work in restaurants, hotels or confectionaries. The participants are chosen by the French partner from those students who finish their studies and they will follow these studies in France in the same profession. During the school weeks they live in the school dormitories and according to their schedule they study French language, professional theory and practice. Between these weeks they work at their workplaces where they get different task according to their linguistic and professional knowledge and ambitions, but in every case they are expected to work independently. The employer evaluates them every month and they also get marks at the school. In the end of the school year they take the professional exam and get a CAP5 certificate which is the lowest professional certificate in France.Finland:The students of vocational education travel for a 4 week long mobility period to our partners in Jyvaskyla, Raahe and Hameenlinna. The partnerschools organises the workplaces which are often the kitchens and restaurants of the schools but they also work at restaurants and hotels. This short period is a good introduction to the international world of work. The beneficiaries use the English language, get tasks which are proper to their level of professional knowledge and they can learn to accept a different culture. In the end of the period they are evaluated with the help of a questionnaire.The results of the mobilities are manifested in the developing of linguistic, professional knowledge and communication skills of the students. Having completed the mobilities they are able to decide independently, size up their own strength and knowledge. They are more open minded to accept differences. They are going to have better chances to get proper jobs.If we can repeat the project every year it is a good possibility to increase the fame of the school. The value of the school grows on the educational market and it provides such possibilities to the beneficiaries which enrich them with special abilities.
