The School Centre Postojna consists of Secondary School in Postojna and the dislocated unit in Ilirska Bistrica, and Higher Professional College. In addition to vocational education, the secondary school offers general upper secondary education - gimnasium. Our school's vision is to equip and to prepare competent students who will work in different areas, to teach them to be flexible and to be able to adapt to the labour market and changes in the environment. We also want to teach them to be innovative to be successful in modern world. To follow this vision, the strategy was prepared which is based on additional value of our students through international dimension as well as through well qualified teachers. Our long-term project goals are: increasing international activities, promoting learning foreign languages and accepting different cultures. In the past two years we have included seven teachers into the international education and are planning to send five more teachers who teach in the general education. One of the teachers is a Biology teacher, two are foreign language teachers (English and Spanish), one is a History teacher and one a Physical Education teacher. All of these teachers are internationally oriented. They cope with different professional challenges in the field of teaching as well as personal development. The purpose of this years' project is to expand international training of teachers in these four fields: 1. training in the field of stress, anxiety and aggressive behaviour in the classroom 2. English course for teachers with low level,3. training in the field of practical uses of technology in the English language classroom 4. training in the field of healthy way of life. We have chosen these fields of education for the following reasons: we find that teachers have to cope with more stress in the day to day work in the classroom, and the students also have to cope with more stress as they have to be flexible and innovative to successfully enter the labour market in the time of constant changes. Besides all these, our aim is to implement modern teaching techniques that lead to integral development of teachers and students and to increase international involvement of teachers. And for these reasons we have applied for this project. With this project we aim and expect to achieve better general and professional competences of the participating teachers and also gaining new knowledge and skills. We expect better competences in the field of using foreign languages and intercultural knowledge, in the professional field of the participating teachers (professional terminology in a foreign language, methods of teaching). One teacher will gain the knowledge in the field of stress, anxiety and aggression and coping with these in the classroom. One teacher will get to know new practical uses of technology in the language classroom. The teacher who will take an English course will develop her oral fluency, vocabulary and pronunciation. The two teachers who will go to a training in the field of a healthy way of life, will get to know new ways of maintaining good physical fitness, knowledge in the field of a balanced diet (with focus on school food), they will get to know active games in schools, school-sport club cooperation, active breaks etc. We expect that the teachers will implement the newly gained knowledge to their work in the classroom (or the gym), transfer the knowledge to other teachers (general presentation for all teachers and later a more detailed review or workshops in smaller groups). We plan to publish the main points on our school's website and inform the general public with a publication in a regional newspaper. With the knowledge from all the teachers in the four fields, the school gains free training and better equipped teachers. The higher number of the mobilities in the international space promotes the internationalisation of the general education, which is one of the goals of our school. Better knowledge and the use of new teaching methods and techniques mean better competences and knowledge of our students, who will consequently be more flexible and innovative. The project coordinator will be responsible for the project to run smoothly and in accordance to the plan. She will take of project management, contract obligations and the schedule. If necessary, she will provide support to the participant in the logistics matters and help in case of any problems or difficulties.
