Urban Workout for Healthier Europe
Start date: May 1, 2016,
End date: Apr 30, 2017
We plan that this project is open for young people with all kind of backgrounds. We will not make any specific selection and everybody, who is interested by the topic and has a strong motivation to participate, can do it very easily. We will not require any previous physical preparation, neither any specific level of English or any other criteria of the participation. We will cooperate with our partners in order to find the participants for this exchange. We will discuss the profile of the participants in details during the As for us, Inter-Action has experienced for already quite some years is working with young people from Luxembourg city that are subscribed for some studies, but in fact, don't go to school or university very often. They are somehow ´anti/school´ and are at risk of dropping out. Most of them have also problems with alcohol and even drugs. Their behaviour is not accepted by society, which brings them in an isolated position. We have developed this exchange idea a lot together with them, their ideas and contributions, as well as the young people from the partner organisations, some of which are in the similar situation, like the described young people from Luxembourg, contributed to the idea of this exchange as well.To put it short, many of the young people that are part of this exchange are young people are at risk. Sport is however, is a great tool to bring these young people together and to motivate them for new challenges and a way to bring them out of the current state and situation. This can be a uniting factor that will help them all to overcome the personal fears, complexes, find the strength to work on the personal development, as well as to bring the positive message themselves to the others, what is not very often happens to this profile of young people, and this why it could be especially important. This youth exchange will give the young people the opportunity of learning experiences without being taught in a class room. During the different activities in this exchange, the young people will experience working together with others and will be facing the situations when they are "forced" to consider each other and count with other people's opinion. They will get responsibilities for certain tasks and learn how to make decisions. For most of them, these are already big steps and new challenges. The positive reactions on their achievements bring them self-confidence in a relatively short time. The main learning outcome for this profile of young people is that the youth exchange will help the participants to broaden their horizons in all kind of different directions. The youth exchange will offer them the possibility to meet different cultures, different habits, different languages and different perspectives.
