Upgrade yourself
Start date: Aug 3, 2015, End date: Jan 2, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Erasmus Plus Learning Mobility project "Upgrade Yourself" was a job shadowing for 2 youth workers from Poland that went for 6 days to The Lotus Trust in London. The job shadowing activities started on 5th of November 2015 and went for 8 days (6 working days and 2 travel days), until 12th of November 2015. The project aimed to exchange experience, acquire new skills, gain useful knowledge and also develop a partnership. But also acquire good working practices in raising youth awareness about healthy living, healthy eating, importance of international dialogue and networking. We have formed an international partnership, learned from each other how each partner organizes and carries out their work with young people and also we exchanged good practice experiences (in areas of inter-sectoral partnerships, eco-tourism and supporting ones that are socially or economically de-privileged). Świątynia Międzynarodowego Towarzystwa Świadomości Kryszny (Poland) and the Lotus Trust (UK) are both non profit organisations, have mainly young volunteers and have experience with organizing education of youth. Their aim was to professionalize our youth working capacity and to increase their motivation for activities in youth working areas. All participants received Youth Pass Certificates. The Job shadowing activities took place in Aldenham, Watford right out of London at the premises of The Lotus Trust where the Polish youth workers learned about good practices with youth, shadowed youth workers from UK in action and shared their experience. Upgrade Yourself learning mobility helped both organisations to form an optimistic partnership that with proper work and endeavor can evolve in new quality activities in near future. We feel that main objectives were obtained as the partnership straightened and new projects were applied. Language and project management (both organisational, networking and individual) competences were increased by Polish participants and also the Youthpass certificates were practically used daily as part of daily evaluation and was done between each UK-Poland job shadowing pair. After the job shadowing activity, Sanjay Tanna and Sanjay Gadhvi presented the experience and possibilities of cooperation to The Lotus Youth members in last Sunday in November 2015 and to the coordinators of different Lotus Trust departments and projects on their regular management meetings. There was a dissemination event also at regular Lotus Youth meeting. In Poland Lukasz Hoppe presented cooperation and also shared the good practice to his colleagues in Poland on weekend retreat at their eco-tourism farm in November and they have prepared a small event in Wroclaw for local members of their organization. It was interesting that an Erasmus Plus adult education strategic partnership Silver Lining Playbook was applied in 2016 as result of this cooperation and job shadowing activity in UK.
