The goal of the “UPDATED TEACHERS, HAPPY & SUCCESSFUL PUPILS” project is to face the challenges and meet the requirements of modern trends in the educational science, by fostering innovation and granting a European dimension to school. Our school wishes to improve the quality of education and strengthen the skills of our teachers; it seeks constant information on issues relating to the organization of its workload, the transition to digital learning, the adoption of educational and technological innovations, the support of learning disabilities, new methods of training within the service, international project and their link with the curriculum . The project includes the participation of 5 out of the 40 teachers of our school in ‘Best practices.Benchmarking’ training course.The teachers were selected by the Teachers Association on the basis of their linguistic skills, knowledge in ICT, their wish to be involved in the project, their willingness to follow the training, to promote innovation and the European dimension at school, and to share knowledge with colleagues. "Best practices. Benchmarking"(5 days Helsinki , 2 days Tallinn )The seminar deals with issues such as innovation and digitization of education, which are closely linked with the school’s plans. The participants will take part in an education procedure, during which they will be able to observe colleagues in real learning conditions. Workshops after class will help them assimilate the results achieved during the observation phase. The participants will discuss, will share good practices with other colleagues and will prepare a plan to be implemented in the best possible way in our school.Benchmarking will help our school gather knowledge and specialization in management, in innovative teaching methods, goods practices and in transition to digital learning, which will be implemented in school practice and included in the curriculum.They will have a good opportunity to find partners for the planning and implementation of Erasmus KA2 and eTwinning projects.The participants are expected to learn how to:• develop an innovation plan in collaboration with colleagues • establish links between school and innovation goals • create a solid structure to support innovation • ensure the transition, in practical terms, to digital learning• implement new methods for dealing with learning disabilities• integrate the European dimension in the curriculum • introduce innovative activities in the subjects to be taught• strengthen their intercultural skills and promote European collaboration through ΚΑ2 projects• create high quality innovative projectThe school:• will use the educational outcome of the seminar to plan, fulfill and finalize an innovation plan within the framework of the long-term school policy over a period of eight months• will establish new solid structures to guarantee an innovative development of the school practices, and• will seek future partnerships with European schools for ΚΑ2 and eTwinning projects.• will promote the practical transition to digital learning through new approaches •Innovative teaching methods will be implemented to support learning disabilities.•Our school will set up methods of in-school training and digital learning for the teaching staff.The implementation of best practices will strengthen the function of school , the educational process, will promote the digitalization of teaching and learning and will tackle weaknesses and failures. Teachers will be able to create attractive learning environments in order to meet their pupils’ needs and pupils will enjoy learning by gaining the best possible advantages.Long-term benefitsCreation of a positive environment regarding the innovative perspective of education Progressive and successful transition to digital learning, boosting the interest of pupils in school and school activitiesUp-to-date school , open to the societyThe school will participate in European projects and will help other schools that wish to take the example of internationalization. It will become a significant center in the local teaching community regarding the implementation and dissemination of innovative educational practices. The transfer of new knowledge and relevant results in the function of school will reach the interested parties through postings on the school’s website, as well as through sessions and seminars that will be organized by the participants. The aim of this project is to create a school that will offer a creative, attractive environment to pupils and a pattern of optimism for the teaching community during this hard time .
