This project is a youth exchange project which is based on multicultural structure of celebrations in different countries. The celebrations have social and historical backgrounds that are reflected by each culture’s specific way of living and thinking. Participants will use celebrations as a tool for cultural learning and interaction. Celebrations of important days or moments in different cultures will be demonstrated by each partner country. At the end of the project, the participants will prepare a new big celebration which will be compounded of each country’s celebrations and they will perform it. There will be six young people with the group leaders from Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and Turkey. This project will take place in İstanbul between 18th and 27th August 2014. During the project, participants will have a chance to discover different perspectives of cultures. There will be also workshops with non formal education methods which are related with these topics: Discrimination and Intolerance, General Human Rights, Democracy, Religion and Belief, Citizenship and Participation. During the project, participants will use physical and mental efforts actively, maximize their creativity, increase the awareness about the topic which are in current EU’s agenda, analyze their position and try to find out their role as a youngster and citizen in EU, improve their cultural and social knowledge about other countries, learn that differences and diversity in Europe are not the barriers for unity but like colors of rainbows which makes us perfect and shows richness of Europe for stronger unity.
