United by Skate - Without Borders
Start date: May 18, 2016, End date: Dec 17, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The multilateral youth exchange "United by skate - without borders" between the five participating countries Germany, Austria, Spain, the Czech Republic and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia takes place in a period of two weeks in Chemnitz / Germany and represents a thematical continuation and extension of the networking and cooperation of fhe five participating associations. There will participate two supervisors and ten young people from each country, who are involved in the sports-oriented youth culture of Skatboarding, BMX and Inline and who are mostly socially disadvantaged for different reasons. Besides experience-oriented educational program points, youth culturally oriented group works and various public events integrating the local environment, in 2016 the field of intercultural learning focuses the current european issues flight and migration. In this respect are to be involved children and young refugees from the local preliminary reception centre for immigrants and the clearing houses for unaccompanied minor refugees, in different program points of the Camp, where the participants of the Youth Exchange should get more responsibility in terms of design and instruction of the workshops this year. The direct contact between the young people shall break down prejudices and clarify to the participants their responsibilities as European citizens. Thereby the participants will be included in a process of intercultural exchange marked by a high degree of participation, which uses the catalytic role of the referenced youth culture. From this perspective we also want to send out a clear signal against the very present hostilities towards refugees the last months in our region and give an example of successful integration and welcome culture towards youth oriented activities.
