United by folk dance
Start date: May 30, 2015, End date: Sep 29, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

In a society where, despite of multiple anti-discrimination laws, you often hear about acts of racism and prejudice is necessary to raise awareness among young people about this topic. This is the reason why we realized the project "United by folk dance", a youth cultural exchange between these two associations: "Il tempietto" (Italia) and the association "Mali Gorzowiacy" (Polonia). This project involved 40 young people plus 4 leaders and it tookplace in the seat of our association in Garaguso. The period of the exchange was from the 31th of July to the 7th of august 2015 (including 2 days of travel). The title refers to the theme we faced: racial discrimination and folk music as a "means to break down the ice", have fun all together, to learn some aspects of the culture and the traditions of a People, in order to reach then our general objective: to break down stereotypes and prejudoces regard a people and understand that the intercultural dialogue can only be a source of personal enrichment. These themes, through a non formal and informal methodology, has been faced with activities like informal talks, workshop, brainstorming, and brought youth to improve their own personal and social development and feel part of a big intercultural mosaic: the Europe. The results of the project were disseminated even outside of our associations in order to raise awareness as many people as possible about this theme.
