For the next academic year, in the context of this project, a new office will be established at UNINTER, the Oficina Jean Monnet (OJM). The areas of intervention are classified as follows: - Teaching: “Escenario Regional de Europa” (Europe Regional Scenario): starting from spring 2015, the university has sought to boost the international component of this class by hosting a visiting professor from Europe. The class is now taught in English and the students are requested to participate in debates and class discussions with their European instructor. With the EU grant, this new teaching approach will be strengthened.“Intercultural Europe”: the International Programs Office offers a “Intercultural diploma” which is an official certificate issued by the university for those students who have attended specific classes during their studies. Intercultural classes are available for the entire student community. Within the context of this project, a new class on Europe (“Intercultural Europe”)will be offered to all UNINTER students.Two European instructors (the invited professor and the module coordinator) will work and collaborate on the teaching program in order to provide the students with a variety of perspectives from Europe. - Thesis: students will be encouraged to select a topic concerning Europe or the European Union for their final dissertation. The OJM will closely assist the students as they work on their dissertations.- Student exchange programs: the OJM will strengthen already existing student exchange programs with partner universities in Europe and establish new partnerships and bilateral agreements. - Events: the OJM will be in charge of organizing conferences with important European and local actors open to UNINTER students and general public, UNINTERMUN (Model United Nations), visit to the European Union representation in Mexico City, and visit to the European Union institutions in Europe.
