Search for European Projects

Ungdoms mulighet for kvalifisering og arbeid i et åpent og multikulturelt Europa.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

This application is a result of experience based on placements abroad for second year pupils attending Healthcare, Childhood and Youth Development. Our pupils have before had their placements in Lithuania (since 2007) and England (since 2013). In March 2015, 6 of our pupils (3 from each line of study), will go to Krakow, Poland. We wish to apply for placement in Krakow, Poland for both groups of pupils. We hope that a placement abroad will give our pupils both professional and personal development. The subject "Prosjekt til fordypning" gives the pupils the opportunity to gain experience in content, working methods and work in the profession. An international practice will give the pupils many opportunities for specialisation in one or more topics. Our school also wants to motivate our pupils in order to prevent drop outs. This project will also make it possible to facilitate improved quality of learning and practise, and increase the possibility for pupils to find work both in Norway as well as in other European countries. The target group is second year pupils attending Child- and youth care studies (BUA) and nursing assistants (HFA). We wish to send 8 pupils and 2 accompanying teachers each year. The pupils will have their placement in kindergartens and at different health-institutions. During the period of placement we also intend to focus on Polish culture and religion. Our school wish to offer our pupils different cultural experiencies, such as visits to museums, churches, characteristic architecture, culinary traditions etc. We believe that this will make our pupils and teachers more tolerant regarding other cultures and respect for other norms and values. An experience that can be shared with collegues and other pupils at our school. Increased multicultural understanding will have a positive effect on the social environment at our school. A competence aim that will be covered is increased knowledge of languages. They will also develop communication- and cooperation skills and increase their social competence. We hope a placement abroad will give our pupils professional insight and understanding regarding possibilities and challenges in a multicultural society. This is a competence that is important when working with people in different ages. Our school also focuses on the cooperation between our two vocational lines of studies and emphasizes relevant goals in these two lines of studies. We will focus a lot on communication, cultural understanding, tolerance and respect for other people's values and differencies. Before the placement pupils and teachers will prepare themselves by learning about the Polish healthsystem, kindergartens, culture and language in Poland. This is further described in the application. We wish to promote our school as a school offering Healthcare, Childhood and Youth Development as lines of studies. In the longer term we also wish to recruit well qualified and motivated applicants that are suited to work in an open and multicultural Europe.
