Una scuola legata al territorio ma aperta allo scambio di esperienze con l'Europa
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The “Sartor” Institute, funded in 1954, consists of about 700 pupils, aged from14 to 19 years old. There are 112 teachers in our school and about 10 employees in Administration dep. There are two seats of the school: one is located in Castelfranco Veneto (Treviso) and the other in Montebelluna. You can find three courses: Vocational training course for Agriculture and Rural Development –five years Technical course in Agriculture and Foodstuffs Industry –five years Professional education and training- three years There have been recent changes in the context our school operates in, to which there hasn’t been adequate feedback so far. In agriculture, globalization of market and production rules requires higher English language skills. The spread of new technologies in e-commerce implies an adequate linguistic competence and an open mind to constant updating for a better living in Europe. Students of Agricultural sector, once school course finishes, reach lower language skills than students attending different school courses. There has been a continuous turn-over of teaching and administrative staff in recent years, causing loss of skills and of linguistic and organizational professional experts, who were fit for European projects. To deal with the new requirements and the deficit in language skills of pupils and teachers, our institute aims at training a teaching and administrative team to get B1-B2-C1 certifications. This project will allow our school to start CLIL, develop further mobility projects and internships to the students and teachers abroad, in order to enhance language skills and a greater vision towards Europe to the modern farmer. The group is made up of six teachers of non-linguistic subjects, the School manager and an assistant of Administrative dep., four teachers belong to professional non-linguistic area and two others teach transversal non-linguistic subjects. Three of these will use CLIL methodology. In fact, providing specific training to the School manager, teachers and administrative personnel is an important quality element in school, aiming at giving them cultural and scientific instruments to support experimentation and innovative teaching methods and management. The most important goal of this project is to make three teachers get B2/C1 certifications, so that they will be able to use CLIL in the final(5th) year of the technical course and have three teachers to get B1 certification, so as to use teaching materials in the three-year term. The School manager and the Administrative dep. Assistant will be able to get B1 certification to give their support to the organization of projects K1 and K1 VET, to be implemented in 2015-2016. Planning: 3 two-week transfers in 2015 , i.e. two teachers and the administrative assistant - in the U.K. 2 one-week transfer in 2015 , i.e. two teachers - in the U.K. 4 two-week transfers in 2016, i.e. three teachers and the school manager- in Ireland 2 one-week transfer in 2016, i.e. two teachers- in Ireland It is expected that our teachers and administrative personnel could get the aimed certification to: -teach professional non-linguistic subjects through CLIL, in the final year of the technical course -set up a qualified team of teachers, able to plan, organize and carry out Erasmus projects -set up a team of teachers able to use and share resources in English language, when using e-twinning platform In so doing, our school will start an innovative process towards Europe and our teaching team will be able to interact with European Educational systems A new school website has been created where all information about this project will be inserted, from the reports on the experience, the works produced by participants, the activities done to a selection of suggested web links. In this way this experience will be highlighted both inside and outside school. There have been fixed some Teachers Board meetings and common area teachers meetings to give reports about the activities so as to appeal other teachers to join work groups for future European projects and e-twinning platform. A meeting with Vocational training course pupils and their parents has been planned in order to show them the educational and didactic opportunities of e-twinning platform that will be used in the classes.
