Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The CEIP Pepe Monagas is located in the southern part of Gran Canaria Island, where the predominant economic sector is tourism. It's a large school, where the rate of foreign students is high. For the next school year, the Principal and the Head of Studies of the new management team, with the clear intention of a new paradigm for the school, proposes the following training project in Europe: "A school that is renewed, learns and implements various educational strategies". Once the educational needs in our School have been detected , we propose the following areas to improve: - Competence of management and organization of teaching. - The use of new teaching tools, such as: "Active Art" in connection with the project that is being carried out in our Schoolr "Visual Thinking Strategies"; "Waldorf" method and "non-formal education at school". - Linguistic competence of our foreign language teachers, whose improvement has a direct impact on the quality of language teaching and on our School CLIL project. - Internationalization of our School in Europe, through observation and acquisition of other forms of implementing Education. Therefore we think it's vital for our teachers to take courses outside our country . The following training courses are proposed: - "Structured Study Visit to Schools / Institutes and Training Serminar in Finland". (7 days in Helsinki. Director and Head Study). - "Active Art: understanding and enjoying art in the classroom and beyond". (6 days in Florence. 7 teachers of Primary Education). - "Pedagogy in Early Childhood Waldorf School" (6 days in Lisbon, Portugal 2 teachers of Early Childhood Education.) - ". Non- Formal Education at School. Methods and Tools to Improve student's learning." (7 days in Brussels. 1 specialist teacher in German as a foreign language). - "Interacting in Edinburgh-Let's tell your story." (7 days in Scotland. 1 specialist teacher in EFL). The main objectives of this project are:1.To excite teachers with new approaches of teaching.2. To see other european learning strategies in action.3. The internationalization of the School, using the platform that European projects represent.4. Encourage teachers not directly involved in the project to learn and become involved in new techniques.5. Improve our student's meaningful learning with different educational proposals.6. Meet teachers from other European countries in order to establish partners for the next European projects that involve students. To address the quality and management of this proyect, the management team sets a timetable for implementing the different modalities of this project, as well as, showing the progress made in each formation in a short, medium and long term. Finally, the results of this proyect will be disseminated outside the school through: - School boards to the knowledge of families, - Interschools meetings that Canary Educational Gobernment establishes regularly, and - Result will be available to the Educational Community through the website of our School.
