UN STAGE EN IRLANDE
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project will take place in Dublin in Ireland during the month of November in 2016. It addresses students in their final year of vocational school. The project is managed by a team of teachers composed of two technical teachers, an English teacher and a librarian teacher some of whom have already taken part in 7 Leonardo and ERASMUS+ projects in Ireland. The other organizing team is composed of the headmaster, the accountant, 2 persons in charge of the project and the "chef des travaux" who is part of both teams so as to make sure everything is well- coordinated. The aim of the project is twofold: on the one hand it aims at allowing the participants to put into practice their professional skills, to develop and improve them. On the second hand it aims at improving their knowledge and practice in English by making them aware of the necessity of this language to communicate and exchange on a personal and professional level. The beneficiaries are 18 students out of a class of 30 in final year of vocational school in Digital Electronic Systems. They have all proved extremely motivated, and have given great satisfaction during their work placement in French companies. Two teachers will be in Dublin: two during the first ten days, the other two during the last ten days. on their internship period. The host partner Emerald Cultural Institute provides the host families, the English courses, and organizes the week end in the Connemara. During the first week, the students will attend English courses. In the afternoon, their English teacher from France will organize cultural visits with the help of the librarian teacher, will take them to the Connemara for a cultural week- end and will coordinate their arrival on their workplacement in their host company. The next three weeks the students will attend their host company. They will be visited and assessed by their technical teachers from France in their host company during the last ten days. Thanks to our previous experiences we look after the host companies ourselves (15 companies we've previously worked with have already agreed on taking our students and have helped us find 4 other companies which have agreed orally on taking more students). Erasmus projects are essential to our developping and to our opening to the world. Thanks to this experience, the students will have improved their English, they will be more autonomous, and will have improved their adaptability profesionally speaking. Their self- esteem will be valued by this european experience. Quite reknown and well regarded, such an experience will be a real asset for their further education. It will help them find a job and will expand the student's mobility area to Europe when looking for a job. They won't be afraid by the prospect of going abroad to find a job.
