UN-EMPLOYMENT+
Start date: Mar 1, 2015, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

he necessity of this project comes from the analysis of the structural difficulties that certain regions and Member States have in what respects the employability rate of their youngsters and at the same time of the need to adapt the local, regional and national labour markets to the new needs of a global competitive economy taking fully advantage of the educational and training paths of the young people. In this way this project tries to give a step towards the achievement of the emblematic initiative "Youth on The Move" under the Europe 2020 Strategy. As you can see by the topic of the project, the needs we are seeking to address are of those of NEETS (youth out of the labour or education/training contexts). We intend to satisfy such needs by supporting youngsters in the acquisition of competences in the areas of entrepreneurship, new techniques to better take advantage of their learning paths, improve their self esteem, capacity to adapt their training to the labour needs and improve their abilities in what respects the achievement of a job and ultimately their personal and professional development. The project “UN-EMPLOYMENT+” is meant to be a bilateral youth exchange. This project will allow 40 youngsters from Portugal and Italy to meet and live for 10 days in Azores, Portugal in order to achieve measurable and tangible results so to improve employment for youth. The project aims to guide, train and encourage young people in career decision-making in the field they choose to assert. During this project, the participants will take part of a work programme, which activities are in line with the methods used in informal and non-formal education, where in different occasions and situations youngsters will be invited to take part and to be the prosecutors of the objectives set above. For such, we will offer participants with a mixture of activities such as workshops, getting to know each other games, outdoor activities, cultural and linguistic exercises, debates, simulations, role play in different professional scenarios, including companies and institutions, in order to have a practical experience and further knowledge of different professional paths. We think such mixture of activities will help participants to be more conscious about youth unemployment and more important of all to know how to take action to improve their own situation, discover new cultures and nationalities by working in multinational teams and above all to strengthen the values of solidarity, democracy and friendship, which we think are vital for the European Project. Together we will explore the impact and importance of choosing future careers, by involving the young participants in long-term development of the community and therefore open their horizons for different professional and educational opportunities. Besides that, we want to present to the participants the current context of labor market in Europe and by the compared analysis of the different systems we will try by the sharing of best practices between both countries to incorporate in each of the participating countries the best examples of each one of them. As stated above the main impact we wish to deliver is to improve the young people’s starting point, what means they will have to do an analysis of their current situation in what regards employment and education/training paths.Together with the facilitators of the project we will identify weak points they wish to address. In order to achieve such ambitious results we intend that the youngsters own experience and opinions to be translated into tools to be applied in the political scene at European level. In order to do that we intend to create a reference manual as an electronic guideline at the end of the project, which will include the solutions presented by the participants during the project about building a career, their personal experiences in employment derived from their practical experience in different professional paths during the project, how to create a Europass CV and the other transparency and certification tools provided by the European Union. This will enable to take into account the acquired skills and talent gained by the youngsters. This manual will take fully into account the participants expectations and therefore will be addressed to their specific necessities. This will be served as a final product and distributed online so as to serve as a guidance to the general youth population. To reinforce this tool we also intend to create a european wide community - a social online network, counting at least 300 young people from all over Europe who are interested in career development. This will happen In order to facilitate communication, interaction in sharing ideas of common interest, experiences and information. Besides that, is we also will Promote Erasmus+ Program and create a context for the development of new partnerships between participating organizations.
