The Corporation of Crafts - Small and Medium Enterprises in Katowice has finished the realization of the project “Learn from the best- polish craftsmen in France”. The project was realised by The Corporation of Crafts in Katowice in partnership with The Chamber of Crafts in Rennes and in collaboration with The Silesian Corporation of Butchers which has lasted from 1st of June 2015 until 31st of May 2016. As part of the project, the group of 30 people, as members of Corporations of Crafts which participated in the project, represented the hairdressing, automotive and butcher’s trades (company owners, co-owners, employees) and employees of Corporations of Crafts left for the one-week training in Rennes in November in 2015. During the visit, participants had a chance to get to know the functioning of French handicrafts through the visiting The Chamber of Crafts, craft schools (which are led by The Chamber of Crafts in Rennes) and workplaces of their French counterparts. The leaving was preceded by the English language course and the culture one. The project was an excellent opportunity to gain a knowledge and motivation to improve their language skills. Implementation of the project contributed the development of the crafts and the SMEs sectors in the Silesian Voivodeship. Gradual introduction of the good practices learned in France during the visits in training centres, craft schools and workshops the Polish context shall have a positive effect on the local community (remaining members of the guilds or employees of the associated enterprises and craft students). Moreover, due to the participation of 30 people coming from different parts of the Silesia Voivodeship the project had an impact on the whole region and its particular cities. Project’s partners also aim at establishing long-term cooperation of the Silesian guilds with the Chamber of Crafts in Rennes.
