The project ?ZST students at German labour market? was developed in response to the needs of participants and potential employers in the electrical and IT industry functioning at the local and regional labour market, characterized by high unemployment and a lack of qualified technical staff who would know German. The project also contributed to the attractiveness of the school offer which develops vocational learning based also on internships abroad. Main targets of the foreign internships project that have been set and achieved were: - promoting mobility of employees at the European labour market, - implementation of innovative educational solutions for professional qualifications, - supporting solutions to increase transparency and recognition of professional qualifications in European countries, - promoting innovative approaches to education and vocational training, in such a way that education systems as fully as possible meet the needs of the labour market, - permitting a practice with access to new technologies to which the school, due to limited financial abilities, has no access, - support of employees? mobility at the European labour market, so that graduates and employees acquired new skills during internships and placements and improved their abilities according to modern standards, - fostering openness and intercultural sensitivity, foreign languages learnining and the ability to adapt to living conditions in different European countries. The partner in the project realization was Vitalis ze Schkeuditz firm, our long-term project partner, who has a perfect educational base for practical training as well as competent teaching staff. This institution guaranteed a four-week practical training in the electrical and IT profession in accordance with the internship program from 1 to 28 March 2015 for our 14 students ( 7 electrical and 7 IT students). The beneficiaries were selected on the basis of criteria which included: adequate justification of participation in the project by the student, average grade from vocational subjects, grades from foreign languages and assessment of behavior. Participation in the project increased the participants' skills not only in the professional sphere but also in the language sphere which will allow them to be competitive at the labour market, institutions will gain employees providing high-quality service ( also in foreign language), understanding the rules of international cooperation and the way of company functioning in other countries, it will give the students the chance of a successful professional start, the opportunity to apply for a job at the European labour market thanks to easier communication in German, gained self-confidence, overcoming language, cultural and personal barriers, the opening to the challenges and awareness of the constant need for improving skills. Acquired new cultural competence raised with no doubt the national identity as well as the sense of belonging to the European community. Work in a culturally and linguistically different environment helped to improve social skills of trainees and increase their adaptive skills. Acquired skills of students have been confirmed by Europass Mobility document which is more and more valued at the Polish labour market. This document has been issued in Polish and English. Getting familiar with one of the European labour markets allowed young people for a critical look at the problem of emigration from Poland and employment in the EU. The youth also understood how important at the contemporary labour market is the knowledge of the foreign language for conversation. Benefits achieved by students are numerous and multilateral, starting from benefits concerning vocational training (new unique work experience) through benefits of getting familiar with a new country, improving the language, the habit of mobility until as it has been said by some participants ?the life adventure?.
