UCZMY SIE TOLERANCJI NA BLEDACH HISTORII
Start date: Aug 1, 2012,

The project Let us learn the tolerance from history mistakes is addressed to inhabitants of Lublin region. The initiator of this project is the group of four young people who act on behalf of the informal group - The Fellowship of Orthodox Youth of Lublin-CheA‚m Diocese. The main theme of the project is to make the local community aware of the region multiculturalism at the example of painful experience and unknown histories of the Orthodox inhabitants of Lublin region who had to migrate after WW II to Regained Territories on the basis of Polish Government Authorities’ decision. The objective of this project is to create the sense of solidarity and to promote tolerance, respect for cultural, national, ethnic and religious diversity of local community through showing painful historic experience of region inhabitants. Within the project, there is planned organization of two-day journalistic workshop at which the participants will be prepared to another project activity – the tour to Regained Territories. At that trip participants are going to collect materials for photographic exhibition as well as for preparing the brochure – next project activity. The participants throughout process of searching materials will encourage local community to take active part in the project through sharing their memories and photographs. The result of the project is the photographic exhibition and brochure which will be showing the effects of intolerance to social diversity. Those works are to be presented at the meetings which sum up the project. We also plan organizing such meetings after project ends at the places outside Lublin region, which were as well affected by the activities of mass relocation of population in 1947, in order to show people how important the tolerance to multiculturalism is.
