Uczenie się języka angielskiego i nauczanie z wykorzystaniem nowoczesnych metod aktywizujących
Start date: Dec 31, 2015, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project "Learning and teaching English using innovative activating methods" focuses on two major aspects: the language (learning English) and the methodology (getting to know the diversified, innovative activating methods). The project assumes the participation of a group of 11 teachers in the 2-week language and methodology course in Exeter (England) entitled "Better English for teachers". The group of people differ in the age, the professional degree, the subject. However, what they have in common is their involvement towards enhancing the quality of teaching and the need to improve their professional skills. The main aim of the mobility is to improve the command of English and to get to know new activating teaching methods. The participants will be doing these under the supervision of highly qualified trainers from International Projects Centre in Exeter. The course comprises 14 sessions of 35 hours of the language activities. The participants will acquire the knowledge of new innovative methods of teaching in a high school and will adjust them to teach their own subject. Thanks to the language improvement teachers of other subjects will be able to support the English teachers in their efforts to do the EU educational projects in school. What is more, the school is planning to introduce the pedagogical innovation, which is teaching different subject in English (maths, geography, biology, career advising classes, library lessons, physics). Enhancing the command of English among teachers will make it possible for them to take part in other forms of lifelong learning like 'job shadowing' or study visits abroad as well as to welcome groups of teachers from other European countries in the Polish school. All these will strenghten the international cooperation among teachers. Thanks to this project we want to promote the idea of the lifelong learning and work on our teaching skills. We also want to join in the intercultural dialogue, break the stereotypes and promote the tolerance. We would like to have a big impact on students in order to encourage them to acquire the knowledge and the key competences, to be more mobile and competitive on the European job market. Thanks to this project we will use new activating methods, which will make the lessons and the school more attractive and will support the modern educational system. The teachers will improve their motivation and job satisfaction. Participating in the course will also extend their knowledge of the geography, history, culture and everyday life of Great Britain. They will also learn more about EU projects, their benefits, the value of the European Union. They will incorporate the new practices and methods into everyday activities, which will undoubtedly enhance the quality of school performance. The school will promote its image in the local environment as the European institution.
