UPI-ljudska univerza Žalec is an adult education centre with a 40-year old tradition. It provides a diverse range of education programes and training as well as comprehensive counselling and career orientation services.The project ''Teaching methods for more lifelong learning'' represents further development of organisation’s educational programes and internationalisation of the organisation that was defined at UPI Development Conference of 2014. Through the project the organisation will acquire knowledge and skills about new, innovative learning methods and content/topics that are going to be implemented into existing education programs. Also, a new education program about sustainable development will be developed. The aim of introducing new learning content and methods is to respond better to the needs of learning adults and to increase their motivation and participation in lifelong learning.The project includes the implementation of 6 key activities - mobilities - in which 5 employees of UPI Žalec and 2 contractors will take part. The participants will improve their knowledge about various teaching methods as well as expand and gain new knowledge about burning global issues, improve their teaching and management skills as well as their social, language and inter-cultural competences.Project results will be disseminated through workshops for teachers with regard to the relevance of their professional field. This way new innovative methods and learning topics will be introduced into classrooms. By the introduction and implementation of new teaching methods and learning topics learning will be brought in closer harmony with the needs of the local environment and the motivation for the participation in lifelong learning will be increased. Expanding and improving the quality of education programs will foster the company’s role as the key partner in adult education in the local environment. The project's key activities are: preparation activities, project management, mobilities, dissemination activities, implementation of project results into organisation’s activities, and evaluation. The project will contribute to the realization of the goals set in key documents goals on the regional level (regional development plan), the national level (National Resolution of Adult Education) and in key EU documents (Strategic Framework for European Cooperation in Education and Training, Partnership Agreement between Slovenia and the EU for the period 2014-2020, Europe 2020; Recommendation 2006/962/ES).
