The idea to create this project has arisen from the needs of our school for improvement in teaching and for further education of teachers. The teachers of Science and Information technologies will use the project to learn how to apply CLIL in their teaching, how to work with sources of materials in English and teach their subjects partly in English. They will thus prepare their students better for life, for work with foreign language sources and for further studies at universities. The language teachers will become familiar with new trends in development not only in the languages given and their teaching, but also in the corresponding societies. They will transfer the aquired knowledge and experience to pupils. Eight qualified teachers will be involved in the project; teachers of German and English, Information technologies and Science. All the teachers will take part in international courses focused on CLIL or in combined language and methodology courses for language teachers. The participants will have the courses of their choice arranged by the agency Jazyky v zahraničí or they will contact the providers of their courses themselves. We are going to carry out the project in two stages. In the first year we will start with courses in German-speaking countries, in the following year in English-speaking countries considering the need for arranging flights. The outcome of the project will be teaching of science and information technologies partly in English, improvement of language teaching, modernization of our curriculum and thus better preparation of students for their university studies. After the completion of the project we will inform the public on the school website, in local and regional press, at meetings with parents and during the Doors open days, during school project days and at meetings with teachers of local schools.
