Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: Jan 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

´´We are learning from the history and discovering present traditional crafts´´ is a title of this project focusing on four-week professional educational stays organization in October 2017 and October 2018 for 12 students of Pottery Design and Training (which is a 4-year Apprenticeship Program) in Avanos, in central Turkey. As some students are under 18, and socially disadvantaged pupils are involved in the project too, and as transport to educational stays places is complicated, an accompanying person will take part in stays in Turkey. The partner for Pottery Design and Training Programme students stays is Kapadokya Eğitim Akademisi Derneği (KAPADEMY), an organization concentrating on education quality improvement, educational activities organization and voluntary work. The main sphere of its interest is professional training, furthemore handicapped people professional training, and education of people coming from the socially weak class. In order that the course of the stays can be comfortable, in October 2015 a preparatory visit of this partner and Avanos Carsi Seramik Ortakligi company, where study visits wil be running, was held.We agreed with our partner KAPADEMY a working program, Memorandum of understanding, study agreements, ECVET study units , their evaluation and validation. During creating of study units we followed the valid RVP (Educational Framework Curriculum) and ŠVP (Educational School Curriculum) and qualifications in the National Qualification System – Pottery Decorator – handmade painting decorations (code: 28-080-H), qualifying standard Carrying out of work technique in handmade painting pottery decoration and Potter (code: 28-007-H), qualifying standard Pottery products making. The aim of the Pottery Design and Training students´s stay in Turkey is to learn about the Turkish ceramics made in Asia Minor as well as to study new techniques and designs. Students will also train themselves in glazing methods of painting and they can suggest their own art design painting too. At the same time, each of them is supposed to respect local culture, traditions and decorative techniques.Students will also concentrate on pottery products making to make more complicated forms or products consisting of more parts made separatelly. Turkish clay is known for its extraordinary expandability enabling production of many specific forms of local ceramics which is unique not only in Turkey but also round the whole Europe. At the end of each stay the accepting organization will validate the ECVET learning results of the students which will be accepted by the sending organization in that school term. All the students taking part in the stays are supposed to develop their language skills to be able to communicate in English in the terms of their specialization. They will also improve their ICT knowledge and learn the newest working methods and technical equipment. What is also important for students is, however, studying of cultural and natural heritage of the area too. They will make new friends, learn to be more independent and reliable for tasks completing which should lead to their further personal development. All the information and experience can be used at graduates´ further work or studies.Students will be prepared in language, cultural and professional courses organized by SOŠ Luhačovice which will also ensure the students´ transport as well as other administrative matters (contracts, ensurance documents etc.). The project partner Kapademi will ensure monitoring, supervision, accommodation, food, technical and cultural excursions. The results of the project will be used by the applicant, cooperating schools and social partners in the Czech Republic as well as abroad and also by accepting organization.
