The project aims to raise awareness of young people about the culture, art and traditions of Polish highlanders. A group of 22 high school students from Visaginas / Lithuania / together with 22 high school students from Pustków will spend an active week in the Polish mountains .Before the start of the project the participants will write their CV to help them during the first meeting with the youth of Pustków to find "their soul mate" - the partner with related interests. The participants will divide into groups and according to their interests will lead workshops for other participants. Youth will jointly make objects stylized by highlanders' art ,decorate everyday objects with highlander's motifs, will participate in an open air painting and photography, get known regional and national Polish dishes, learn to dance highland dances and organize happening dedicated to the beauty and purity of the mountains. During the project, a group of journalists and photographers will document the actions of participants. An important place in the activities will play English, as it will be the main language of communication between Lithuanian and Polish participants. Thanks to these young people will have the opportunity to improve communication in a foreign language in informal situations which favour "opening up " and breaking the barrier of fear of speaking English. Using a camera and a digital camera to document activities, and then posting articles and photos on a blog or social networking, participants will hone their skills in this area. Spending time together in an active action with their peers, participants will learn and motivate each other to improve their skills. This will have a big impact on the broadening of both the knowledge and skills of participants in the field of participation in culture, information technology, pro-social attitudes which in some time will have a positive impact on the growth of academic achievement and the development of key competences. After finishing the project , participants will have the opportunity to receive Youthpass certificates.
