Turizmo paslaugos
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

"Tourism Services" Tourism is one of the most important branches in economy. In future, its part and size are bound to get bigger. The success in tourism business field mostly depends on appropriately chosen and carried out policies. The world‘s tourism organization predicts positive development rates for Central and Eastern Europe. It is believed that by 2020 every third visitor will have attended these regions. One of the vital criteria in recreational services to ensure quality are professional labour resources. This is the main factor to provide recreational and other services. Business representatives responsible for organizing recreational services often lack management skills so there is much to be improved in training future professionals in Lithuania. Thus, there is a must to create opportunities for staff to refine and refresh their skills. Professional staff able to greet, accommodate, provide catering, entertainment and cultural programme are needed to satisfy the needs of tourists coming to Lithuania. Professionals able to provide the best services for people in Lithuania going abroad are also a need. Professional attitude results in satisfied customers and profit. Theoretical knowledge in tourism marketing and practical application of the marketing conception determines successful activity in this field. Students acquire skills and practice at school and companies during their practical training. Competent teachers are important to provide high quality education which satisfies the needs of labour market. Teachers need to refine their technological competencies not only in Lithuania but in foreign companies as well. Another important factor is development of sectoral practical training centres. The project is based on European dimension plan and strategic plan for the period of 2014-2015. It is planned to encourage vocational teachers to improve their technological competencies, creativity, innovative ideas and to ensure quality in practical training when opening a sectoral practical training centre in 2014, September 1. Business practice firm operating as a travel agency will be created so teachers will need sufficient knowledge and skills about providing travel and accommodation services and organizing active and passive recreation. The participants are 32 vocational teachers teaching recreational subjects and school authorities who are responsible for educational process. High requirements and challenges arouse when teachers try to pursue a higher quality of training. A teacher is involved in organization of practical training and in teaching-learning process. He/she is a competent and motivating advisor as well as the main source of ICT skills. The aim of the project is to satisfy the needs of participants to improve their qualification, the quality of educational process and make vocational schools more attractive. 32 specialists from Klaipėda Tourism School, Šilutės Tourism and Business School, Panevėžio Trade and Business School and National Tourism Business Association, will be sent to foreign schools and companies to get introduced with preparation of staff working in recreation. The following results are expected. The specialists will improve their professional skills in Austria, Malta, United Kingdom, France and apply them in their job. The duration of the project is 12 months.
