Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project Practice makes perfect – professional training abroad as the opportunity for better start of adult life concerns completing an internship abroad and involves a group of 64 students of Zespol Szkol Gastronomicznych im. Prof. E. Pijanowskiego in Warsaw. The participants of the projects are third class students of technical college attending the profile of catering technician. The students will be divided into four groups, each of them consisting of 16 students who will go to Germany for their internship within 2 years. The aim of the project is to enable the students to get their professional training in Germany, which in our opinion will contribute to the development not only on professional but also on a linguistic level especially as far as professional German is concerned. Professional training abroad can also contribute to providing our students with a good start in the job market. The purpose of the project is also to exchange experience and to promote the idea of professional training abroad and work experience as the chance to become a wanted employee in the job market. In order to implement the project there will be convened a team responsible for each stage of it. At the beginning the team will decide on the set of rules concerning the cooperation with the partner of the project and will sign up the relevant agreements. Then, the team will choose the participants of each group to provide them with a special preparatory programme involving extracurricular classes in food technology and professional language. The main aim and at the same time the next stage of the project is a trip for an internship during which the students will improve their professional skills. After their return, the students will make a film promoting international internships. After completion of the project both sides will evaluate on the cooperation and benefits coming from it.The project will have impact on professional skills upgrading of its participants, give them a chance of professional development and checking their practical skills. What is more, the participants will receive a certificate on their professional qualifications – Europass Mobility Certificate which will be valid in whole Europe and which will also contribute to the growth of participants’ mobility in the European job market. Furthermore, the project should increase motivation of the participants in the range of profession as well as improve their self-esteem and make them more responsible for their own future. The project will also tighten cooperation on European level as far as exchange of experience and vocational training are concerned. It will also contribute to bringing up young people who are conscious of their goals and ready to accept challenges, for whom the boundaries are not limits for fulfilling their ambitions. Coming across new cultures fosters expanding horizons and creates the attitude of respect and tolerance. The project will be also the opportunity for our institution to gain new experience in international cooperation in the range of vocational training and will make our educational offer more attractive.
