Travelling to Nowhere!!! السفر الى لا مكان
Start date: Aug 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Project ‘Travelling to Nowhere’ is a Training course whose activity will be held from 16th to 21st October 2016 in Madrid, in the ‘Blue Sense’ hotel. It will involve 15 organizations from different countries, with a total of 30 Youth Workers, 3 Trainers (professionals who work directly with youngsters, specialized in the social field), and facilitators. It is a project about INTEGRATION, SENSIBILISATION, SOCIALEXCLUSION AND HUMAN RIGHTS WITH REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS. Its aim is to reduce the enormous gap between the ideal of the ‘Universal Human Rights’ and the reality, the widespread violations arising from them. In recent years, with the massive influx of immigrants and refugees, Europe is facing an unprecedented challenge. This humanitarian surge, added to the socio-economic crisis that most European countries are facing with, multiplies racist, xenophobic, islamophopic behavior. It is important to sensitize all young people, organizations, politicians, and other social strata, to the peaceful resolution of conflicts, economic stability, and mutual respect. The universal declaration of Human Rights, Article 14, states: “Recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world”, and as Kofi Annan, Former United Nations Secretary-General, declares: “We know what the problems are, and we all know what we have promised to achieve. What is needed now is not more declarations, but action to fulfil the promises already made”.The preparation and the design of this Project arises from the participation in other European projects with our partners, both in Sicily and Macedonia, on the topics of refugees and immigrants, and the contemplation of the situation ‘in situ’ of the situation and living conditions. From the direct contact with different organs directly involved in the rescue of refugees and immigrants, transmitting the information for the need of urgent aid and international consciousness through the few mediums they have at their disposal, in order to alleviate this situation. All partners have signed internal agreements to continue with the resolution of this humanitarian conflict. The methodology will be based on social learning of social integration, and skills of personal and social autonomy, with a mixture of theoretical content and practical exercises; evaluations, group debates and discussions in plenary, video presentations about awareness and the program design. The learning will be focused on personal experience, reflection and group work. The activities consist of informative chats, debates, documentaries, personal experiences, brainstorming, videos about awareness, etc..The learning structure will be based on theoretical and practical contributions according to the experimental learning with different sessions, in which will be evaluated the design and the competences acquired, together with the share of tools, and setting the bases for their importance, repercussion, and high importance on a local, regional, national, and European level. GENERAL OBJECTIVES:Raise awareness and promote values based on social cohesion and integration, civic cooperation and participation, and tolerance.Promote fundamental European values based on social cohesion regarding Human Rights, Democracy, Peace, active citizenship, inclusion, social cohesion, and promote the multiculturalism of the future. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:Promote partnerships and communication strategies to provide greater visibility to the opportunities offered by the program Erasmus+: Youth in Action. Disseminate the good practices and the exchange of knowledge and values, creating a balanced network of cooperation. For this, the level of involvement of the participants and partners will be actively stimulated, with a feedback through personal participatory learning methods of non-formal education, the communication will be constant through social networks, and it will continue after the project ending. The language that will be used is English. As a result, we expect that everyone acquires common parameters of action against racism, islamophobia, y xenophobia, with refugees and immigrants among others, so thatthey will be able to disseminate and promote behaviors of good practices in the future. The long-term benefits are exceptional for building an inclusive and multicultural stable society, based on Human Rights, developing inclusive attitudes that will endure over time.
