One of KINEMASTIK’S main aims is to promote the fundamental need for interaction with other cultural organisations based in Europe and Internationally. We do this by creating network channels through which young people can exchange skills and contacts. To further this idea, KINEMASTIK is proposing an initiative entitled TRANSCINEMA – an effort to acquaint the local public with the European and global trends of short films and film-making developed by youths. We have envisagedan umbrella of events under the title TRANSCINEMA within the art and culture theme that will include the following : Film Screenings by Youth; Public Lectures; Workshops and a Publication. This project will encompass research, discussions, interactive seminars and information concerning contemporary film art and culture. Furthermore, Maltese and International works will be available to the European public through an exchange that is already taking place with several film festivalsaround Europe. The project will be wrapped up by a publication that will contain all the relevant information and experiences that will be systematically gathered throughout the duration of the project. The project aims at fostering artistic and other forms of creativity in within the filming sector as a means for creative self-expression and inducing a cultural diversity as a source for creativity and innovation.
