TRAINING TOOLS FOR SUSTAINABLE BUILDINGS

Since the Kyoto Protocol, signed in 1997, many national initiatives have emerged .The reaction of professionals was all the more disparate as their professional training followed more or less adroitly with the times. Knowledge exists, as rich as fragmented and underutilized. Learner demand is very strong in the field of sustainable development applied to buildings and construction projects. All the ingredients for the initiative begun in Kyoto is transformed into reality. The European commitment is unwavering. Yet, while many courses exist, there is a great vacuum to fill. Therefore it is necessary to harmonize and update knowledge continuously using the best academic experts, and create a two-way bridge between academic research and training.Eight partners from five countries represent the consortium of this project, two universities of architecture and engineering, a consulting engineers office, a training organization, and three small architecture offices, all involved in training or construction of buildings and sustainable construction.
