Training in the Correct Use of Farm Machinery – FO.MA.AGRI

The FO.MA.AGRI project aims to develop a training programme focusing upon the correct use of farm machinery, as regards safety and proper handling, thus contributing to a reduction in the high number of workplace accidents in the farming sector. Target groups for the training programme include SME’s, self-employed workers, young people and immigrants employed in farming. Project partners will initially compile and analyse the training needs in the sector, leading to the development of a series of online training modules in each of the partner languages. Training topics will include, amongst others, high risk jobs/tasks, machine repair, farming & crop cultivation, tractors, motorised machinery, land preparation machinery, crop protection machinery and farm transport. The training modules will each be piloted within the participating partner countries with recommendations from the pilot phase being incorporated into the final modules. In addition to the results of the initial analysis on sectoral training needs, the project will result in a series of training modules and support manuals for employers & employees, a series of online guides for trainers and a series of profiles for work in high risk areas. Dissemination will be key and will make use of partners existing networks, for which a range of approaches will be adopted to include articles to relevant press/journals, the use of internal & external publications, project specific promotional materials and the use of partner websites.
