Training Centre for Health Care, Prophylactic and Rehabilitation Services

Prophylactic and rehabilitative services for injured and disabled people in Romania are limited. As a reflection of this, medical students who wish to train in this area do not have access to adequate training facilities. This project responds to this discernible need by establishing a training centre for health care in prophylactic and rehabilitative services in south-west Romania. The project will benefit from the input of project partners in other countries with experience in this field and in the development of ICT sources for training and for the dissemination of project results. It also builds upon the results of a previously fundedLeonardo da Vinci project which provided Romanian students with practical experience in prophylactic and rehabilitative services in the participating partner countries. The practical outcomes of the current project will centre on the establishment of a Romanian Centre for Prophylactic and Rehabilitative services. New training methods will be taught at the centre and students will be able to learn through traditional means as well as through the use of ICT tools such as CD-Rom and the internet. A new curriculum for students and a corresponding training manual will be developed, along with a course diploma and transferable credit system. The whole package, from the establishment of the centre through to the development and application of course content, will be grounded in a quality assurance system. The project will further include the production of data and reports on the training needs of students in this field, with accompanying media coverage in Romania and in the partner countries with regard to the centre's development and the project results.
