TITLE: TRADITIONAL AND ICT GAMESCONTEXT/BACKGROUNDTraditional games are considered as an important symbol of the national identity and can be a great tool for intercultural learning among youngsters coming from different European nations. On the other hand, Munzee, using ICT, is a modern and efficient way for this intercultural learning, i.e. to explore the world, to learn about the history, geography and arts of a country or a region. So both our traditional and ICT games reflect on different cultural expressions, and create a bridge between cultures for a better mutual comprehension.Thus, our project aims to combine tradition and 21st century technology while discovering cultural diversity in Europe and developing numerous competences of participants.OBJECTIVES: • to discover and carry out traditional Hungarian and Italian sport and other games with transnational collaboration;• to share Hungarian good practice with the Italian partner in the issue of ICT development (Munzee app) through non-formal education;• to enhance intercultural exchange among young people in order to raise awareness of both their own national traditions and of another European nation; • to develop the existing cooperation between the two European schools representing different cultures, and to increase their capacities, attractiveness and international dimension with this cooperation.NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS - 15 young people from Italy and 15 from Hungary, all of them aged 14-18 from both sexes, 8 of them with fewer opportunities due to educational difficulties or economic obstacles.VENUE – POZZUOLI, NAPLES, ITALYPROJECT PERIOD - 1 AUGUST – 31 DECEMBER 2016 APV - 17-18 AUGUST 2016Youth Exchange - 10-15 SEPTEMBER 2016DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES Preparation:• selecting participants, planning project activities together;• APV - introductions, detailed planning of Youth Exchange;• creating means of dissemination and communication;• preparing participants (linguistic, intercultural, etc.);• practical and technical arrangements.Youth Exchange• team building: introductions, energizer, Italian and Hungarian intercultural nights;• exploring and practising traditional and ICT games: Italian/Hungarian days with traditional games and sports, Scavenger hunt with Munzee app, Sport days;• evaluation: evaluating the day, Final Event• visibility – writing project blogs, editing and uploading project materials to websites and facebook platform.Final evaluation, dissemination• writing project blogs, editing and uploading project materials to websites and facebook platform.METHODS:• team building – games, presentations, informal contacts, transnational group work, brainstorming, discussions, peer learning, learning by doing, energizer, intercultural night;• introducing and practising traditional games – interactive presentations, learning by doing, group work, physical activities;• practical use of ICT – Munzee applications, taking photos, making videos, writing blogs, working on social platforms (facebook) and on websites;• evaluation – individual log books, discussions, sharing experiences.DESCRIPTION OF RESULTS AND IMPACT - the project• develops a sustainable partnership amongst the participating organisations, strengthens their capacity to other transnational collaborations;• improves social, problem solving, communication, ICT and language skills of young people together with their national identitities; enlarges their knowledge about the history, geography and culture of the other participating country.POTENTIAL LONGER TERM BENEFITS• young participants will transfer their project experiences to peers (schoolmates, friends) and to their families, thus raising European intercultural awareness;• by using the project outcomes, other transnational youth exchanges are organised.
