According to the project “Rendering of the traditional crafts on the professional training lessons” carpenters’ and builders’ specializations’ teachers have an opportunity to expertise and improve their professional, pedagogical and technological skills, also to grow up professional qualification, to educate creativity, innovative thinking and entrepreneur. Traditional crafts - it is an experience, which goes from generation to generation and teaching of special skills for creating and marketing of a permanent national heritage product. This is a legacy of our ancestors. The aim of this project is - what is beautiful - is not foreign, but it is close to our roots, not to vanish in highly developed modern technologies age. It is important to join our heritage into interior, exterior and today’s lifestyle. Teachers’ goal is not let to forget traditions, deep national roots and cultural heritage. We believe, experience gained during the project will inspire cultural storage. Today, for young adolescences, it is very important to have critical thinking, to see ahead than it is required in the lesson, expand their knowledge and develop in a practical way. The economical situation in the country reveals creative person is welcome in the labour market, and there opens wider opportunities and career abilities for him. Teaching of entrepreneurship helps students not only gain more and better theoretical knowledge, but also develop their practical skills, what allow to be more innovative in thinking and technologies. It is important to state that teacher in briefly development of his professional skills can create innovative, creative, entrepreneurial young generation. Maintaining the spirit of the cultural heritage which is reflected in the classroom for a young person, teacher can get the highest result - it is history of survival. The aim of the project is to provide an opportunity for the practical training teachers in carpenters and construction industry specializations; to improve knowledge in the vocational training, professional and technological competencies, develop creativity, innovations and entrepreneurship. The tasks of the project: - To get acquainted with the use opportunities of traditional crafts in interior, exterior, and today’s lifestyle; - To understand and be aware of the traditional craft of conveying the possibilities in the building - construction sector; - To present to the grounds of traditional motifs in architecture; - To introduce integration possibilities of carpenters and construction specializations in creating modern interior, exterior, and home environment; - To establish and strengthen the close cooperationship between Lithuania’s, Malta’s and Austria’s educational institutions. Participants of project “Rendering of the traditional crafts on the professional training lessons” - 12 teachers of practical education of carpenters and construction specializations: Mazeikiai polytechnic school (Mazeikiai PM), Kelme professional educating center (VšĮ Kelmes PRC) and Kursenai polytechnic school (VšĮ Kursenai PM), who are interested in seeking and developing pedagogical, professional and technological competencies and qualification in Malta and Austria. The project will be implemented in Malta’s and Austria’s professional teaching institutions and SME. Duration of the project - one week: in Malta - on November, 2014; in Austria - on October, 2014. On the project period 12 teachers of practical training: - Will improve and deepen the educational, professional, technological competencies, raise professional qualifications, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship in analyzing Malta’s and Austria’s teaching experience; - Will improve the sociocultural skills: teamwork features, mutual understanding and communication skills in a new environment; - Will improve their foreign language skills in professional and everyday situations; - Will make acquaintance of Malta’s and Austria’s culture, customs and traditions; - The experience and knowledge gained from the project will present to their school colleagues during vocational teachers’ methodological group meetings and to students on lessons; - Project participants will prepare a methodological material on “Traditional crafts in the modern interior, exterior and today’s lifestyle in taking over the EU experience” in optical storage media. - The participants will prepare a slide show presentation from Malta and Austria, which will be presented in the final event “Opportunities of using traditional crafts in modern interior, exterior and today’s lifestyle” in Mazeikiai Polytechnic School. - Cumulative course material will be used as an additional material for vocational teaching; - Collected and systematized material from the project will be posted on schools’ web sites, information boards, libraries, in Mazeikiai Polytechnic School’s newspaper “Zvilgsnis”.
