TRA-PRE-VI - Training for the Prevention and Treatment of Youth Violent Behaviour

The violent behaviour in the centres fostering young people is one of the most important concerns of the workers of this sector. However, the staff of the centres and services attending these minors is not properly trained to manage violent situations. Preventing and treating violence represents an essential way to ensure the welfare of young people and the favourable conditions for their development and protection. In this context, the aim of our project was to develop efficient and useful materials to provide responses to the needs of professionals and of the institutions and services where they work. The goals of the project were:- To train workers in the acquisition of new skills that lead to the promotion of new tools of work.- To provide workers with reference points to improve the development of their professional practice.- To provide a theoretical content that meets the needs related to professional competences and adapts them to their field (social work/assistance).- To enable institutions to build their own responses according to the specific mission they assumed.- To develop a culture of prevention and treatment of the youth violence phenomena at all levels of the organisation and for all the agents. The project was developed in six European Union countries: Spain, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy and Latvia. Every partner took an active part in implementing, developing and assessing the activities that were developed throughout the project. Results: A website containing methodology, educational and training resources (in English, German, Spanish, Italian, French, Estonian and Latvian) and validated and experienced by every partner country.
