Search for European Projects

Tous européens, pour mieux s'intégrer demain !
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Pupils receive a professional training in our vocational school as part of their curriculum. But our wish is now to open up to Europe. We want drop-out students and those who have learning difficulties to take advantage of European projects. The objectives of European mobility are various. We hope this will motivate pupils with learning difficulties, favor transdisciplinarity as well as allow a future employment of the pupils and make them aware of European citizenship. The students involved in the project are under 18 lower sixth pupils who come from a modest social background. Some of them are drop-outs. Our aim is to give the opportunity for all the pupils of our school to take part in the project. The activities of the interns are prepared before, during and after the stay. Prior to the stay: -We will provide a basic training in foreign language of professional and everyday life vocabulary. We will work on language skills by teaching professional subjects in foreign languages. -We will create a blog for the interns (which will ensure a link between the different countries) -We will simulate job interviews using skype. -We will set up a sponsorship between former and new pupils which will provide logistic background to pupils with difficulties. - We will also create an intern guide that will help the students during their stay. During the stay: -The interns will complete their guides and have them signed by their internship supervisor. -Pupils will have to post a daily summary of their activities on the mobility blog. -Teachers and companies will develop an internship portfolio in order to set up assessment criteria corresponding to the objectives of the guide. After the stay: -We intend to present the internships and the sponsorship to the new pupils. -We plan to create a DVD which will show what young European interns learnt during their stay abroad and how they feel about it. -Pupils will validate their skills taking different certificates (European portfolio, Europass, Europro, they will get additional points for their school-leaving certificate…) The project will be prepared gradually. We will visit our partners abroad before the mobility projects and will regularly communicate with them on Skype or by e-mail in order to set up the objectives. We will teach professional subjects in foreign languages in order to develop transdisciplinarity. During the internship abroad, we will work in partnership with the companies to support our pupils. We hope the number of drop-out pupils will decrease. The aim of this project is also to boost the image of vocational training, to raise the number of young people with a second-year university level (for them to find a local job more easily) and finally to allow a general awareness of European citizenship. We are expecting the following advantages: -an internationalization of the school, a mobility of the teaching staff that would offer extra-skills to the pupils and the creation of a network of local, European and multinational companies linked to our school and European organizations.
