Tourist enhancement initiatives on the Venetian and Slovenian coasts through cross-border events  (COSTAVESLOCAV)
Start date: Feb 28, 2005, End date: Nov 29, 2006 PROJECT  FINISHED

“COSTAVESLOCAV” consists in a series of initiatives aimed at informing tourists about the extraordinary natural resources of the Venetian province and the Slovenian territory, with the objective of bring larger numbers of people to the coast and in the Venetian mainland. Planned initiatives refer to leisure boating and maritime itineraries, such as museums and open-air tourism, through the definition of alternative routes. Since “new” tourists are interested in matching relax and learning about the surrounding territory, the project intends to meet this demand through the creation and the promotion of the “Venetian coast” trademark, favouring the connections with the beaches of Cavallino-Treporti, Jesolo, Eraclea, Caorle, Bibione and Chioggia. The project also aimed at encouraging cross-border cooperation among tourist institutions, in order to create a coordinated tourist offer, through the identification of alternative routes between the beach and the mainland, thus enhancing smaller artistic centres. Lastly, the project intends to encourage tourism in connection with the rural economy through the study of eno-gastronomical itineraries leading to the discovery of typical local products and farmhouses in the two areas: working in synergy leads to the establishment of a constructive public-private relation through the collaboration with the sector of tourist wet docks and with camping sites.
