FINISHED
Fighting rising level of unemployment particular among young people has become one of the most urgent tasks of the program Erasmus+.Too many young people leave school prematurely running a high risk of being unemployed and socially marginalised. In the project Lebenshof these young people get a second chance to get a school leaving certificate and a job-related future. To support disadvantaged young people is the main goal of the EVS project. One way is the individual encouragement of young people with learning difficulties. One volunteer from Hungary takes part in the project. He can enhance his language skills (non English and low German language skills). This is the point to become mobile. Due to his practical knowledge the volunteer can help to promote the youngsters during the workshops. The project will use methods of leisure education like high rope course.
The volunteer will gain social skills and educational skills with disadvantaged young people. Through the individual support of the learners the volunteer will enlarge his own knowledge in natural science. By assisting in the several workshops his skills in the area of pottery, woodwork gardening and cooking will rise.
The young people of the project will encouraged the engagement of the volunteer and his eagerness to learn to develop his competences. This fact can influence the participants.
The project work gets an European level. In a rural area (Ludwigsdorf is a little village) the participation of an international volunteer will reduce prejudices and distinction.
The results and experiences we want to disseminate and exploit by
our YMCA media, but also at a local or regional level for interested partners.
