The project "Time to get to know for us, for our countries, for Europe" was mutual personal and cultural, as well as the common meet Europe / EU in the focus. Other pillars of the project were the active and consistent participation of young people as well as the thematic debate through creative and youth affine methods. The theme of Projekt more to learn about Europe was proposed by young people and prepared together .. 57 young people in the age between 14-20 years from Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic and Germany participated in the project. The project consisted of a preparatory phase, the activity itself and a subsequent presentation, follow-up and evaluation.
At the beginning of the activity there was in accordance with the motto of the activity space and time, so that the participants could get to know . In a first phase of work, the young people have their "Acquaintance Wishes / expectations" based on Herself (..for us), to the different countries / cultures (... for our countries) and formulated in Europe / EU.
These wishes / expectations formed the topics and ideas for the workshops. The young people deepened and edited the topics in the workshops. The program included the fields of music, dance, art / Creative, Internet / editing.
The results have been published on a website. Some other documentation objects had been bar tables created out of cardboard, on which the results of the project by means of QR codes could be presented. If you scan you have access to the website and could get information. The bar tables are to be issued in the four cities (town halls, schools, libraries, youth centers).
An already proven method of participation was the Camp Council. This was chosen by the young people during the camp.
The young people had time for meeting, for learning something about the nations, visiting a festival in soest, making sport, preparing disco by semethelf in the evening.
As part of the activity, there was a significant event, which has greatly influenced the course of the project: Almost parallel with the arrival of young people, began the city administration with the preparations to establish a shelter for refugees in Soest.
The arrival of refugees in Soest and the Europe-wide coverage in all media resulted in young people to a great conversation and discussion about refugees need .This was included as a part of activities
