Time for Movie!
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Apr 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The youth exchange organized as a networking project with neighborhood partner countries “Time for Movie!” will bring together 42 young people from 6 European countries and neighboring partner countries (Italy, Estonia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Belarus and Azerbaijan) 11th - 20th June 2015 to discuss European issues and learn how to make documentaries. Films and media in general play a very important role in today’s world. They are prerequisites of democracy, but at the same time they influence people very much and especially young people are often confused by different messages coming across from media. We believe it is very important for young people to understand how media work, how movies are made and to be able to critically process received information. The project will give young people an opportunity to express their opinions, undertake informal study of intriguing subjects, make documentaries and express their opinions in creative ways. After practical workshops introducing them to main aspects of documentary making, they will work in mixed groups and they will have to organise the work: divide tasks and roles, decide the subject of their movies, write narrative, learn how to use new software, understand copyright issues, conduct interviews and create together a final product. In their documentaries, they will deal with interesting but difficult subjects. They will be divided into 4 groups and the main topics on which they would reflect will be: - European identity /citizenship of young people - Youth migration - Youth unemployment - Young people and their understanding of gender equality 'Time for Movie!' will enable young people to better understand the above-mentioned topics, as well as to find interesting angles to look at them. The project will boost their creativity and will give them practical skills that could later be used in professional life. They will gain communication and team-work skills, as well as improve their IT and digital skills.
