The municipality of Mosfellsbær now has a project which aims at improving and reinforcing information technology in education. During the school year 2013-2014, a needs analysis was performed and the situation in the field assessed in all the elementary schools in the municipality. It is essential to build up and add to technical equipment and technical devices in view of the demand from each and every school. Krikaskóli pre- and primary school educates very young children and children with severe special needs. There is a shortage of technical equipment and devices, but it is important to utilize the equipment well. Hence, we place emphasis on analyzing the urge and what we can do already. It is therefore important that teachers and school administrators have the know-how to use the existing technical equipment and the ability to eye new opportunities. In order to accomplish this, their access to education and training in this field has to be increased. Krikaskóli‘s working group needs to reinforce itself in this regard, and have already taken a few steps into that direction. It is therefore important that the employees and administrators partner up to strengthen this part of the education.
