Theory Applied to Real Embedded Systems (TARES)
Start date: Sep 1, 2008, End date: Aug 31, 2011 PROJECT  FINISHED

"Our project, entitled Theory Applied to Real Embedded Systems (TARES), aims to bridge a gap between theory and practise for the design of Embedded Systems. We are going to apply recent advanced theories and tools developed for timed systems to the design of existing and commercialised software products which are based on the L4 micro-kernel technology. A micro-kernel is an operating system that provides a restricted set of services; the micro-kernel L4 provides threads, basic scheduling, inter-process communications and virtual memory. The project will be carried out over 3 years by Franck Cassez at NICTA/Sydney (, Australia, in the Embedded Real-Time Operating Systems (ERTOS) and Formals Methods (FM) groups."
