Theatre as tool for peaceful conflict resolution in youth work

This is the 8-day training course that involves participants from 12 organisations from 11 countries and that will take place in Serbia in March 2010. The training course will gather 22 youth workers from SEE, Mediterranean and EU countries in order to introduce them to creative and innovative technique - Theatre in Education - applicable for broad kinds of activities for youth, mainly related to the personal development of young people. In the first, theoretical phase, the participants will work on the topics related to conflict management and peaceful conflict resolution; intercultural learning and human rights. In the second practical phase related to theatre tools and techniques, the participants will work on developing their own capacities for leading a process with young people and creating theatre presentations/performances. Besides these 2 phases, the training activities will include free time activities such as city tour through city game, intercultural evenings and banquets and attending and performing socially engaged theatre performances.Through this TC partner organisations will be empowered and motivated to take initiatives on thebroader European level targeting young people. Those initiatives will be related to peaceful conflictresolution in general in their local communities. Total budget: 22,165.00 EUR
