Theater zwischen den Kulturen - Deutsche und bosnische Jugendliche dramaturgisch in Aktion
Start date: Sep 1, 2015, End date: Nov 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Background of the youth exchange is the missing mutual knowledge of young people in Germany and Bosnia-Herzegovina about each others daily life and culture and the need of training social and intercultural competencies and verbal skills and creativity. Moreover, in both countries - Germany as well as Bosnia-Herzegovina - interreligious tensions and conflicts are of increasing importance. Against this background the project aims at promoting conscíousness and understanding for other cultures by the common rehearsing and performing the theater play "Hasanaginica" of young people from Hamburg (Germany) and Kakanj (Bosnia-Herzegovina). The theater play is a folk ballad from Bosnia-Herzegowina which was translated by the German Johann Wolfgang Goethe. It deals with different concepts of values and gender roles in muslim and christian cultures. So, the common rehearsing and performing of the theater play by young people from Bosnia-Herzegowina and Germany is not only a creative way of intercultural understanding and training social and intercultural competencies as well as verbal skills and creativity. Moreover, it is a way to sensitize for aspects of interreligious living together. In the frame of two visits - one of the young people from Hamburg in Kakanj, one of the young people from Kakanj in Hamburg - the young people rehearse the theater play. It will be performed finally in Hamburg. Part of both of the visits is a cultural framework programme. And part of this framework programme is that the young people explore the daily life in the countries with a special focus on the living together of people with different religious backgrounds. They document their impressions by texts and photis.
