"The William Theatre" project is a youth exchange between 16 and 25 years old youngsters, that will take place in the municipality of Molfetta (Italy), located on the Adriatic coast. It foresees the following activities:- an advance planning visit on 28nd and 29rd of June with 1 leader and 1 participant with fewer opportunities each country- a youth exchange from 20th till 26th of July gathering 25 youngsters, 10 of whom with fewer opportunities, at least 2 each group. Furthermore 1 leader every 4 participants, a total amount of 5 participants each group. The project is meant to be part of the regular events in the framework of the local cultural festival "Estate Molfettese" appointed by the municipality of Molfetta, where young artists give their performance and make events with theatre background. The project will enrich the local event providing it an international feature. The issue is the theatre and mainly the rediscovering of the european common roots and identity trought theatre and artist like WIlliam Shakespeare, since in 2016 recur the 400 anniversary of his death. Shakespeare's plays many years ago talked about of cultural diversity, integration, immigration and emargination first, issues that incur today as well seen the recents immigration events in Europe. The project involves not only European partners, but also one from St. Petersburg "Nemetsko-Russkiy Obmen", with a precise aim to raise awareness on our similarities rather than diversity and in case to make than a richness. The other partners, apart of InCo, are: Coordinadora infantil y juvenil de tiempo libre de Vallecas" (Spain), "LAW" (Wales), Aktivne Mesto (Slovakia). The groups of youngsters will have the task to create a short activity or performance connected with theatre and European issues and to share it with their peer and the local community.Throught the art of theatre the youngsters will discover the presence of common roots and a strong European identity, will develop non-formal skills and entrepeneurship mindset, will understand that network and cooperation attitude in Europe is the unique solution for improvements and own personal and professional engagement. At local level the impact of this exchange project is very important seen that this is the first time in our community a similar event takes place, within a festival, in a local community where there have always been low opportunity of contacts with the hearts of Europe. Because of this planning of events the project risks to have a huge audience and visibility that might approach more and more youngsters to the European opportunities, but mainly it might foster our network of cooperation at regional and international level.
