The UE and the political development in South-East Europe
Start date: Sep 1, 2015, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

EUSEE aims at contributing to a number of general Erasmus + objectives. Building on the growing interest for EU’s foreign and neighbourhood policies, as well as on a long-standing concern among Italian students (and, more broadly, within Italian civil society and the general public) for political, economic and social developments in South-eastern Europe, the proposal aims at contributing to a number of goals related to innovation in teaching and research, to the engagement of civil society in issues pertaining to European enlargement, and to the promotion of dialogue between the academic world and policy-makers. The proposal addresses these broad Action-related objectives in the following way: first, it develops sixty-eight hours of teaching activities on the EU, South-eastern Europe and their relationship; second, the students will debate these issues among themselves and with policy-makers and experts working on Balkan affairs; third, these activities will contribute to promote innovation and teaching and networking among leading regional institutions (the University of Trento and Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso - a leading think tank on EU neibourhood issues). Fourth, the proposal will involve in teaching activities experts from aspiring new EU Members from South-eastern European countries. As a whole, EUSEE is designed to augment the educational offer on the EU, south-eastern Europe and their relationship within the University of Trento, provide students with a range of different learning activities, develop synergies between institutions in the region of Trentino, and open channels of communication and exchange with researchers and professors based in south-eastern Europe.
