The tourism-our common future from Struma to Bregalnitsa

The activities of this project are developed to overcome these barriers and to support the awareness and development of the natural resources and cultural-historic heritage into a relevant source for intensification and diversification of the regional economy.The strategy of the proposal includes: an overall concept for achieving sustainable tourism in the long term,creation of a cross-border tourist association, strengthened discussions in this thematic area, trained human resources to start a tourism business and a built tourism infrastructure.The aim is to be created a well-functioning cross-border system,ensuring optimal opportunities for the development of the new common product.The contonuous impact of the outcomes of the project will affect mostly the target groups that are tied to the protection and promotion of the natural and cultural-historic heritage, its inclusion in the economic development of the region and the development of innovative tourism products. Achievements:  1 new tourism infrastructure in the cross-border region through the utilisation of City park Simitli; developed one Programme for the development of tourism in the cross-border area of the Municipalities of Simitli and Karbinci;  30 trained persons for starting a tourist business; conducted two-day roundtable on topic "Management of tourism in conditions of European Integration";  Cross-border Tourist Association;  10 new cross-border partnerships.
